There are MANY skin injuries and conditions which mimic pressure wounds and injuries. Pressure injuries and their associated stages and characteristics have clinical, regulatory, cost, reimbursement, and legal implications. Misidentification of a skin injury can lead to ineffective treatments, inappropriate use of resources, incorrect documentation and reporting. In this session, the presenter will identify some of the confounding conditions that are reported as pressure, including chronic tissue injury.
